Worship in the vyas basement of Gyanvapi will continues, Hearing in HC postponed till 6th Feb

Prayagraj @SanatanYatra. The Allahabad High Court refused to impose an interim stay in the southern basement of Gyanvapi on the 31th January order of the Varanasi court allowing Hindus worship. The hearing has been postponed till 6th February. At present, there is no restriction on worship in the Vyas basement of Gyanvapi.

The Anjuman Intejamia Mosque Committee, which manages the Gyanvapi Mosque, has filed this appeal challenging the order of the court of Varanasi in the High Court. Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal has postponed the hearing on the petition of the Masjid Committee till February 6.

In the appeal filed in the court, Shailendra Kumar Pathak, the trustee of Srikashi Vishwanath Temple and the chief priest of Acharya Ved Vyas Peeth Temple, have been made party. The appeal filed against the decision of the court of Varanasi has argued that this suit itself is not nutritious under the place of worship Act, 1991.

At the same time, there was no discussion about being owned by the Vyas family of the basement or to be maintained for worship, as claimed in the current suit. It is also alleged in the appeal that the main objective of filing this suit is to create artificial controversy over the operation of the Gyanvapi mosque, where regular namaz is performed.

Explain that the Varanasi court, in its order on 31 January 2024, allowed Hindu devotees to offer prayers in Vyas ji’s basement inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex. The court had said that the district administration should make necessary arrangements in this regard within the next seven days.
